2017 Topps Now MLB Players Weekend #PW-105 |
In 15 games with the Phillies, Florimon impressed by hitting .348 and seeing time in the field at second base, shortstop, third base and all three outfield positions. He dislocated his ankle in a gruesome injury while trying to beat out a play at first, ending his season on September 2nd.
Florimon joins the exclusive Louie Meadows Club, as he most likely will not have his own Phillies card but he does appear on someone else's Phillies baseball card. Topps released a five-card Topps Now Players Weekend set for each team, featuring stars of each team in their special jerseys. The photo used for the Nick Williams ("Nicky Dubs") card is actually Florimon. Meadows is featured on an error version of Wes Chamberlain's 1991 Topps card.
Therrien will miss the entire 2018 season following Tommy John surgery. In 15 games with the Phillies, he compiled an 8.35 ERA. He's young (24) and the hope is that he comes back post-surgery stronger than ever and ready to go. Therrien appeared in the late season team issued photo card update set.
The 40-man roster now stands at 38, with two open spots available.
