Phillies 9, Twins 5
Spring Training Game 25 - Tuesday Afternoon, March 21st in Fort Myers
Record - 10-12-3
One Sentence Summary: The Phils rode a six-run ninth inning to a 9-5 come-from-behind win over the Twins.
What It Means: This was a nice little win, and one of the few exciting victories for the Phillies so far in this exhibition season.
What Happened: Jake Thompson and Adam Morgan each pitched three scoreless innings. Alec Asher got roughed up in the eighth, allowing all five Twins runs on five hits and a pair of walks.
In the ninth, Roman Quinn's RBI-double tied up the game after Aaron Altherr (3) led off with a solo home run. Odubel Herrera broke the tie with an RBI-single and Tommy Joseph capped the big inning with a two-run double.
Featured Card: Thompson and Quinn, featured together on this Topps Heritage card, are both likely to start the season with the IronPigs. The starting pitching rotation appears set as do the five available outfield positions on the roster. Still, it's nice knowing the Phillies have some depth at this point in the high minors and I would think we'll see Thompson and Quinn back in Philadelphia at some point this season.
