Phillies 5, Braves 2
Game 69 - Tuesday Night, June 17th in Atlanta
Record - 31-38, 4th Place, 5 games behind the Nationals
One Sentence Summary: Ryan Howard and Kyle Kendrick led the way as the surging Phillies downed the Braves, 5-2.
What It Means: It's almost surprising at this point when the Phillies play well. They played well in this game, and it seemed from the outset they were going to win.
What Happened: Howard spotted Kendrick a two-run lead in the first when he hit his 13th home run of the season. Kendrick won just his third game of the year after throwing seven strong innings, allowing two runs on six hits.
Featured Card: Kendrick has had a rough start to the 2014 season, which is why this is the first time he's been the featured card in a game summary post. If the Phillies do become sellers at some point, I would think Kendrick might be one of the movable pieces. Kendrick will become a free agent following this season, and there's no indication the Phillies are looking to bring him back for 2015.

Kendrick has done an ok job for the Phillies throughout his career. I remember when he was considered (by the fans, at least) to be not as good as J.A. Happ.
