Marlins 7, Phillies 1 (Game 1)
Game 138 - Monday Afternoon, September 6th in Philadelphia
I'll let radio broadcaster Larry Andersen sum up the game today with a few comments he made late in the game: "They didn’t come out today to play . . . at least this game." And a few moments later he added, "I shouldn’t say that. It just doesn’t look like it."
Vance Worley pitched effectively in his first Major League start, keeping the Phils in the game by allowing just 2 runs over 5 inings while striking out 5. I wouldn't be surprised if Worley ends up in Kyle Kendrick's rotation spot for the remainder of 2010.
Marlins' starter Adalberto Mendez, making his Major League debut, shut-out the Phils for 6 innings and limited them to a sole single by Brian Schneider in the 2nd. The Phils managed just two more hits (against Marlins' reliever Jose Ceda in the 9th), barely avoiding being 1-hit for the 4th time this year.

Are the 93 Leaf cards the ones with local landmarks on the back. I love those. Phillies cards had Independenc Hall or the Liberty Bell on I think.
Those are the ones. (Gives me an idea for a future post.)
