A spring training non-roster invitee, Michael Rucker began the season on the injured list for the Phillies. He'd move to the 60-day injured list for a time and was activated on July 26th, taking the roster and bullpen spot vacated by Seranthony Dominguez, who had been dealt to the Orioles. Rucker was on the Phillies active roster for three games, and while he may have warmed up in the bullpen, he never threw a pitch in any of those games. He was sent back down to Lehigh Valley on July 29th following the acquisition of Carlos Estevez. Rucker was designated for assignment on September 4th and claimed off waivers by the Nationals two days later. Strangely enough, Topps decided to include a Photoshopped Rucker in its Update set, despite the pitcher never officially entering a game for the Phillies.
