Somehow Bryce Harper is already in the fifth year of the 13-year contract he signed with the Phillies prior to the 2019 season. Since signing the contract, he's won MVP honors in 2021 and helped lead the team to the World Series in 2022. His dramatic two-run home run against the Padres in NLCS Game 5 propelled the Phillies to the World Series and cemented his NLCS MVP honors. Harper had offseason Tommy John surgery and was back in action well in advance of his expected return, missing just the first month of the 2023 season. With the team needing more options at first base and DH, Harper unselfishly took a crash course in playing first base with infield coach Bobby Dickerson, making his debut at the position on July 21st.

His power numbers haven't returned yet, but he's hitting .300 through Sunday's game with six home runs. I need to check the numbers, but by the time he retires Harper will likely have the most Chachi custom cards in the history of Chachi sets, surpassing the likes of Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley and Ryan Howard.
