At the Ballpark: Three games, three great giveaways! On Friday night, the first 20,000 fans will receive a Jameson Taillon Starting Lineup figurine. On Saturday, the first 20,000 fans will receive a Pirates fedora and on Sunday all kids will receive a baseball dart board game and they'll be able to run the bases following the game.

That Pirates card disproves the claim that when Kent Tekulve wanted to become invisible, he would just turn sideways. But he sure was a thin fellow.
I was at the Pirates-Phillies Opening Day game in Pittsburgh in 2012 and Teke was walking in the concourse before the game posing for pictures and signing autographs. He was surrounded by Pirates fans but I worked my way up for an autograph and told him I remember how happy Phillies fans were when we traded for him in 1985. He smiled, and then I asked, "So are you sort of rooting for the Phillies today?" Some people booed me, and he looked taken aback and said, "Of course not. I'm the Pirates broadcaster. What are you talking about?!?" Then he gave a wink. So I don't think he was rooting for the Phils, but the Pirates were coming off a 90-loss season while the Phillies had won 5 straight division titles, so the thought may have crossed his mind....
