2014 Topps Heritage #255 Darin Ruf

Phillies 6, Astros 3
Spring Training Game 21 - Thursday Afternoon, March 20th in Kissimmee

Blue Jays 3, Phillies 1
Spring Training Game 22 - Thursday Afternoon, March 20th in Clearwater
Record - 6-14-2

One Sentence Summary:  The Phillies split their split squad games against the Astros and Blue Jays.

What Happened:  Bobby Abreu had a big day against his original team, going 3 for 4 at the plate and throwing out a runner at home in the fourth.  His effort supported starting pitcher Jeff Manship, who pitched five strong innings, allowing just a run on six hits.  Ben Revere had two more hits to raise his spring average to .349.

In Clearwater, while wearing their weather delayed green jerseys, Chase Utley knocked in the lone Phillies run with an RBI-double in the first.  Starting pitcher David Buchanan, battling Manship for the final rotation spot, allowed two home runs in his four innings of work.

Featured Card:  Yep, more Heritage.  The biggest story yesterday, besides the Jimmy Rollins won't be traded non-story, was the injury suffered by Darin Ruf in batting practice.  Ruf, who was hoping to earn one of the final opening day roster spots, apparently strained his oblique and could miss the start of the season.
