Ranger Suarez had two very different seasons in 2024, before and after a back ailment and other nagging injuries.  Through his first 10 starts, Suarez was 9-0 with a 1.36 ERA, holding batters to a .174 average and striking out 68 over 66 innings pitched.  He seemed well on his way to possible Cy Young contention.  Through the rest of the season, Suarez was 3-8 in 17 starts with a 5.10 ERA with batters hitting a robust .290 off him.  Suarez made the All-Star team on the strength of his first 10 starts, but didn't attend the game due to injury.  He pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings in NLDS Game 4 against the Mets, but a complete lack of offense from the Phillies cost them the game and the season.
