The ace of the pitching staff, Zack Wheeler had another fantastic season, finishing second in the league's Cy Young Award voting.  Wheeler earned his second All-Star Game nod, and was 16-7 with a 2.57 ERA in 32 starts and exactly 200 innings pitched.  He led the Phillies' pitching staff in wins, ERA, innings pitched and strikeouts, with 224.  He won his 100th career game on August 31st against the Braves.  Wheeler did all he could to help the Phillies advance in the postseason, pitching seven scoreless innings against the Mets in NLDS Game 1.  But the bullpen blew it in the eighth inning, ending Wheeler's season prematurely.
