Game 63 - Thursday Night, June 16th in Washington
Record - 33-31, 3rd Place, 8 1/2 games behind the Mets

One Sentence Summary:  The Phillies continued their June offensive outburst with a 10-1 win over the Nationals to kick-off a five-game series.

What It Means:  The team continues to keep pace with the Mets and Braves in the division, and they'll look to hopefully creep closer to first place over the next four games with the floundering Nationals.

What Happened:  Zack Wheeler won his sixth game, throwing seven solid innings and allowing a solo home run to Josh Bell in the fourth.  Michael Kelly made his major league debut in the eighth, allowing a walk and hitting a batter before retiring the side.  Kelly was a first round draft pick by the Padres back in 2011, and he's spent the past nine seasons in the minors.

The floodgates opened for the Phillies in the third when Nationals second baseman Cesar Hernandez committed a costly error with two outs to prolong the inning.  The offense would then score seven unearned runs against Nationals starter Patrick Corbin, led by a two-run home run from Kyle Schwarber and a two-run double from Didi Gregorius.  Schwarber would add his second home run of the game, his 18th overall, in the fourth.  Yairo Munoz hit a solo home in the eighth to cap the scoring for the night.  Nick Castellanos had a pair of hits, including an RBI double, and his average has quietly improved to .258.

Featured Card:  This is the first Phillies baseball card for Schwarber actually featuring him wearing a Phillies uniform.  I'll continue to post these team-issued photo cards as long as the team keeps winning.
