2019 Chachi Photo Night #6
2019 Chachi Photo Cards #23
2020 Chachi #7
Before spring training this year, Jay Bruce switched his uniform number from #23 to #9 to honor his boyfriend friend who unexpectedly passed away in December.
Bruce was the opening day DH for the Phillies and he started in left field in the third game of the season. He's expected to serve both roles - DH and corner outfielder - throughout this shortened 2020 season.
Phillies collectors may not ever have an official team-issued photo card for Bruce, as there was no update set issued late last year and the team won't produce a set for 2020. He appeared on three different Topps Now cards in 2019 and by my count he's appeared on five different Topps products so far in 2020.
