BayCare Ballpark - Clearwater, FL
Record - 1-3-1
One Sentence Summary: Otto Kemp homered and Alec Bohm had a pair of RBI singles in this 5-3 win over the Tigers, the Phillies' first win of the spring.
What It Means: I know we're only a week in with spring training games, but I'm kind of ready for the season to start? Maybe it's the fact we've had snow on the ground for over a month.
What Happened: Brad Keller, Zach Pop and Kyle Backhus gave the Phillies three scoreless innings to start the game, allowing just a pair of hits. Backhus was the recipient of the win. Pedro Leon and Bohm got the scoring started with RBI singles in the third, and Kemp hit a solo home run in the fourth. Two more runs scored in the fifth when Bryce Harper doubled home J.T. Realmuto and Bohm's second RBI single of the day scored Harper.
Featured Card: I need to compose my "First Phillie from the 2026 Topps Set" post, as my wife delivered a blaster box of Series One to me last week from one of her Target runs. This Backhus card was in the blaster, along with the First Phillie, and it's Backhus' first mainstream baseball card appearance.
