2025 Topps Now #493
With a clever nickname of Durantula, and an impressively dramatic light and music show upon his entrance from the bullpen, Jhoan Duran provided excitement for the Phillies fans in the second half of the season, but more importantly, he gave the team its first legitimate closer in years.  Duran was 1-2 with a 2.18 ERA and 16 saves in his 23 regular season appearances with the Phillies, after being acquired from the Twins for top prospect Mick Abel.  He pitched in three NLDS games against the Dodgers, not allowing a run and striking out seven in 3 2/3 innings pitched.  We were there for Duran's Phillies debut on August 1st, which coincided with Jimmy Rollins being inducted onto the Wall of Fame.
