2025 Topps Now Road to
Opening Day #OD-182
Sunday Night, May 11th
Progressive Field - Cleveland, OH
24-16, 2nd Place, 1 1/2 games behind the Mets

One Sentence Summary:  Kyle Schwarber accounted for all the Phillies offense with home runs and Zack Wheeler struck out eight over seven innings in this 3-0 win.

What It Means:  The Phillies won their fifth series in a row since being swept by the Mets at the end of April.  They returned home on Monday for six games with the Cardinals and Pirates.

What Happened:  Wheeler improved to 4-1, giving up three hits and walking a pair.  Jose Alvarado and Jordan Romano shut the Guardians down over the final two innings, with Romano earning his third save.  Schwarber hit a solo home run in the second and added a two-run home run in the eighth to give the Phillies some breathing room.

Featured Card:  Through this game, Schwarber had reached base in 46 consecutive games, dating back to last season.  Only three players are in front of him for the franchise record - Mike Schmidt (56), Chuck Klein (49) and Bobby Abreu (48).
