The Phillies jumped on Giants' starter Jordan Hicks early. In the first, Bryson Stott and Trea Turner singled and Bryce Harper walked to load the bases. Kyle Schwarber brought two runs home with an RBI single, and Nick Castellanos added a third run with another single. Alec Bohm capped the five-run inning with a triple to center to score Castellanos. An Edmundo Sosa sacrifice fly in the eighth gave the Phillies an important insurance run.
