A long-time former reliever for the White Sox, Jose Ruiz helped solidify the Phillies bullpen in 2024. He took the place of an injured Yunior Marte on May 3rd, and never returned to Lehigh Valley. Ruiz relieved in 52 games, putting him fifth on the list of most frequently used relievers by Rob Thomson, behind Jeff Hoffman, Matt Strahm, Jose Alvarado and Orion Kerkering. Ruiz was 5-1 with a 3.71 ERA over 51 innings pitched and had a save. He'll be back in the bullpen mix for 2025.
