Bryson Stott was a non-roster invitee to spring training last year, and made the Phillies' opening day roster following an impressive spring.  Batting just .133 after his first nine games, Stott was briefly sent back down to Lehigh Valley and he was recalled for good when Didi Gregorius went down with a left knee sprain on May 7th.  He'd assume regular shortstop duties for the remainder of the season, ultimately appearing in 127 games and batting .234.  In the postseason, Stott struggled at the plate, batting .136 (6 for 44) with three RBIs.

With the offseason signing of Trea Turner, Stott began the 2023 season as the team's regular second baseman, taking over the position from the departed Jean Segura.
