Game 140 - Sunday Afternoon, September 11th in Philadelphia
Record - 78-62, 3rd Place, 10 1/2 games behind the Mets

One Sentence Summary:  The Phillies outlasted the longest in-game rain delay in team history to defeat the Nationals in a marathon Sunday afternoon game, 7-5.

What It Means:  The win completed the three-game sweep of the Nationals and gave the Phillies a 1 1/2 game lead over the Padres for the second National League Wild Card spot.

What Happened:  The Phillies held a 1-0 lead after two innings before a 3 hour and 36 minute rain delay caused the game to be resumed late in the afternoon.  The Nationals took a 4-1 lead in the fourth, and a 5-4 lead in the sixth, with Rhys Hoskins tying up the games both times with a three-run home run in the fifth and a sacrifice fly in the sixth.  Alec Bohm broke the 5-5 tie with a clutch, two-run home run in the seventh.  David Robertson quickly struck out the side in the ninth to save his fifth game with the club.

Featured Card:  Bohm had the game-winning home run, but Hoskins kept the Phillies in the game by tying the score twice.  The slugger went 2 for 4 with four RBIs, hitting his 28th home run of the season.  Here's an oddly shaped and shiny insert card for Hoskins from the 2022 Topps Gypsy Queen set.

Transaction:  Seranthony Dominguez (rhp) was activated from the injured list and Vinny Nittoli (rhp) was optioned to the IronPigs.
