One Sentence Summary: Cristopher Sanchez gave the Phillies a huge spot start, pitching six solid innings in this 7-5 win over the Reds.
What It Means: With the pitching staff in need of an overall break, Sanchez came up big, allowing a pair of solo home runs and striking out seven on the way to his second win.
What Happened: The Phillies benefitted greatly from wildness from Reds' starter T.J. Zeuch, who walked two batters with the bases loaded in the third. J.T. Realmuto had a four-hit day, including his 14th home run, while Rhys Hoskins drove in three runs. David Robertson rebounded from his shaky outing against the Mets to record his fourth save with the Phillies.

Transaction: Michael Plassmeyer (lhp) was optioned to Lehigh Valley and Sanchez (lhp) was recalled. Tyler Cyr (rhp), whose Phillies career consisted of one inning pitched and a back-breaking home run to the Mets, was claimed off waivers by the Oakland Athletics. I've not posted this running list of in-season transactions in a while, so I'll use Cyr's departure as an excuse to update this. (Spoiler alerts below as I'm writing this post a few weeks after this game.)
