Jose Alvarado relieved starter Kyle Gibson in the fifth with the bases loaded and one out. Alvarado proceeded to strike out Eduardo Escobar and Jeff McNeil to end the threat and preserve any hope for the Phillies. James Norwood, Seranthony Dominguez, Jeurys Familia and Corey Knebel took it from there, with Knebel recording a four-out save.
