Gary Sutherland's Phillies career was a puzzle. As a rookie in 1967 he played a lot of shoerstop and left field (and nowhere else). The next year he was relegated to utility status, even after the Phillies burned through both shortstops Don Money AND Bobby Wine by mid-May. Hard to believe 4A scrub Roberto Pena was a better option.

Then he goes to Montreal and is the starting 2B for several seasons.
