2014 Topps Gypsy Queen #204 Carlos Ruiz

Phillies 3, Dodgers 2 (10 Innings)
Game 20 - Late Tuesday Night, April 22nd in Los Angeles
Record - 10-10, Tied for 3rd Place, 3 games behind the Braves

Part 5 of 8 - Another Post-Vacation, Rapid Fire Game Summary Round-Up!

One Sentence Summary:  The Phillies prevailed in the 10th when Carlos Ruiz scored the go-ahead run on Domonic Brown's RBI double.

What It Means:  The win pulled the Phillies back to .500 for the first time since April 13th.

What Happened:  Ruiz had reached on a two-base error, hustling out what should have probably been a routine pop up.  His hustle set the stage for Brown's RBI double.  A.J. Burnett pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing just two runs on six hits while adding a career-high three hits of his own.  Ben Revere had a four-hit game to raise his season average to .300.

Featured Card:  Brown had the winning hit, but if not for Ruiz running hard all the way the Phillies probably don't score in the 10th.  This is Chooch's card from this year's Topps Gypsy Queen set, which gets bonus points for featuring the retro uniforms the Phillies wore back on August 23rd last season.
