1968 Topps #245 Tony Gonzalez

Rockies 3, Phillies 1
Game 17 - Saturday Night, April 19th in Denver
Record - 7-10, 5th Place, 5 games behind the Braves

Part 2 of 8 - Another Post-Vacation, Rapid Fire Game Summary Round-Up!

One Sentence Summary:  With the offense continuing to be AWOL, the Phillies dropped another game in Colorado, 3-1.

What It Means:  This loss dropped the Phils into sole possession of last place in the N.L. East.

What Happened:  Kyle Kendrick kept the team in the game, allowing three runs in his seven innings of work, but the offense managed just five singles and went 0 for 4 with runners in scoring position.

Featured Card:  This was the team's fourth consecutive game without an extra base hit, matching a streak set in May 1968.  Left fielder Tony Gonzalez broke that streak on May 17, 1968 with an eighth inning double off the Cardinals' Bob Gibson.

Tony's last card as a Phillie. Fresh off a .339 season in 1967.
