All-Star Game Performance: Cole pitched a scoreless 4th inning for the National League. Ken Griffey, Jr. saved Cole's All-Star Game ERA by throwing out Alex Rodriguez at the plate to the end the inning. Rodriguez had singled, stole second and was attempting to score on an Ivan Rodriguez single.
