Joe Thurston is doing a decent job so far as the Cardinals' starting third baseman.Joe played in 18 games for the Phillies in 2006, serving mainly as a pinch-hitter and pinch-runner, and getting a few starts in left field. In July 2007, Joe was immediately recalled from AAA Ottawa when Chase Utley's hand was broken by a John Lannan fastball. (Jenna and I were at this game). He was only on the active roster for one day before he was unceremoniously designated for assignment upon the acquisition of Tadahito Iguchi from the White Sox.
