2022 Phillies Photo Cards #31 |
Game 69 - Tuesday Night, June 21st in Arlington
Record - 36-33, 3rd Place, 8 1/2 games behind the Mets
One Sentence Summary: The Bryce Harper-less Phillies showed a lack of punch in Arlington and the Rangers hit four home runs in this 7-0 loss.
What It Means: Harper's infected blister kept him out of the line-up again, and the offense went 0 for 9 with runners in scoring position. They'll try to avoid a season sweep by the Rangers in a Wednesday afternoon matinee. (Spoiler alert - they didn't.)
What Happened: Kyle Gibson took the loss, allowing three runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings of work. The game was within reach until Jeurys Familia entered from the bullpen. Attempting a wrap-around inning and coming back out to pitch the eighth, Familia allowed two, two-run home runs to Marcus Semien and Kole Calhoun, sealing the loss.
Featured Card: Familia has struggled all season, and his ERA with the Phillies is now up to 5.55. It's tough to imagine him sticking around much longer unless he turns it around, which means this team-issued photo card could be his first and last Phillies baseball card.
Transaction: Johan Camargo (inf) was activated from the injured list and Michael Kelly (rhp) was optioned to Lehigh Valley.
