2015 Topps #561 Ken Giles

Phillies 3, Blue Jays 2
Game 101 - Tuesday Night, July 28th in Toronto
Record - 38-63, 5th Place, 15 1/2 games behind the Nationals

One Sentence Summary:  Adam Morgan pitched another effective game as Ken Giles recorded his first save in the post-Jonathan Papelbon era.

What It Means:  The Phillies have won 9 of their last 10 games and they continue to play baseball that is enjoyable to watch.  The fourth place Marlins are just 4 1/2 games ahead of the Phillies.

What Happened:  The Phillies hit three consecutive doubles in the fifth from Darin Ruf, Cody Asche and Andres Blanco, resulting in all three of their runs.  Morgan allowed just two runs on five hits in his six innings of work and the new back end of the bullpen trio of Jeanmar Gomez, Luis Garcia and Giles threw three shutout innings.

Featured Card:  Here's the baseball card of the new Phillies closer from this year's Topps flagship set.
