Lopez earned a Chachi card back in 2009 when he briefly served as the team's fifth starter throughout July. In total, he appeared in 7 games (starting 5), going 3-1 with a 5.70 ERA. The Phils released him in early September 2009.
He pitched in the Cubs organization last season, making it into 4 games with the big club and surrendering 4 earned runs in 6 1/3 relief innings. He becomes the team's 10th non-roster invitee to Spring Training.

I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like this winter's been very quiet... 943 minor league signings with the occasional HOLY CRAP! trade.
