How do you know which cards you want? Are there team checklists for all these sets available somewhere, or do you have enough checklist cards to piece it together yourself?

There are a few sets/short prints from 2002 that just don't interest me - Donruss Super Estrellas comes to mind, as do the numerous numbered short prints of Anderson Machado. The list represents the 2002 Phillies cards that I don't have, that I would one day like to have.

As for my checklisting method . . . This started out as a Word document from 2002 that I updated as card sets came out. Phillies checklists were culled from a variety of sources including Beckett, and the official websites of the manufacturers. I currently pay the $6 a month to use Beckett's on-line price guide, so in certain cases I had to refer to that where my old Word checklist was sketchy.

It may sound strange, but in some cases, such as the case with the 2002 Phillies cards, putting together the checklist is probably more fun than actually tracking down the cards.

That makes sense. I've been thinking of figuring out exactly which Sox cards I need...but couldn't figure out a good way to know which 2005 Upper Deck Whatever Clever Name They Used were Sox.
