2012 Topps Heritage Stick-Ons #37 Jimmy Rollins

Phillies 3, Marlins 1
Game 143 - Wednesday Afternoon, September 12th in Philadelphia
Record - 72-71, 3rd Place, 17 games behind the Nationals

One Sentence Summary:  The Phillies won their seventh in a row behind Jimmy Rolllins' home run and Cliff Lee's fine pitching performance.

What It Means:  This is getting interesting.  The Phillies are now three games behind the Cardinals for the second Wild Card, with 19 games to play.  They open a four-game series in Houston tonight, against the team with the worst record in baseball.

What Went Right:  Lee won his fifth game of the year, pitching seven strong innings and allowing just a lone unearned run.  New set-up guy Phillippe Aumont pitched a scoreless eighth and Jonathan Papelbon struck out the side in the ninth for his 34th save.

With the score tied at 1-1, Rollins launched his 19th home run of the year, scoring pinch-hitter Pete Orr and giving the Phils the 3-1 lead.

Featured Card:  Here's another recent "card" of the 2007 National League MVP.  These stick-on cards were inserted into packs of this year's Topps Heritage, paying tribute to the original 1963 Topps Stick-Ons (or Peel-Offs, if you prefer) included within packs of 1963 Topps cards.

And speaking of 1963 Topps . . . I've updated both my 1960-1964 Phillies and 1965-1969 Phillies Want Lists.  Some of the cards featured on these wants lists are totally far out!
