2012 Topps Gypsy Queen Relics #GQR-JRO Jimmy Rollins

Phillies 9, Marlins 7
Game 142 - Tuesday Night, September 11th in Philadelphia
Record - 71-71, 3rd Place, 17 games behind the Nationals

One Sentence Summary:  The Phillies poured on the offense and survived a shaky seventh inning from the bullpen to defeat the Fish, 9-7.

What It Means:  Finally!  The Phillies don't have a losing record for the first time since early June.  They are 14-4 since August 22nd, which is the best record in baseball during that stretch.

What Went Right:  Jimmy Rollins is coming alive.  He had two hits, including a two-run home run in the sixth, and he scored three runs.  Juan Pierre and Chase Utley also enjoyed three-hit nights.

Roy Halladay had a so-so outing, pitching 6 1/3 innings and allowing five runs on seven hits.  He earned his tenth win of the season thanks in part to the solid relief provided by Phillippe Aumont and Jonathan Papelbon.  Aumont worked out of a jam in the eighth with two strikeouts and Papelbon pitched a perfect ninth for his 33rd save.

Featured Card:  I've enjoyed featuring a bunch of 2012 Phillies cards during this recent winning stretch.  Here's a Rollins relic card from this year's Gypsy Queen release.  The Gypsy Queen set was quaint last year, but I think two years of this set is enough.

Perhaps I'll get to feature another recent Rollins card soon.  (That's foreshadowing right there.)
