What It Means: This was to be the only win for the weekend against the Diamondbacks.
What Happened: Walker's first inning was atrocious, as the Diamondbacks held a 2-0 lead not more than five minutes following first pitch. Ketel Marie led off with a solo home run, Corbin Carroll walked and Adrian Del Castillo would single Carroll home. As has been the case recently, the Phillies did all their scoring in one inning. In the bottom of the third, Alec Bohm reached on an error and Justin Crawford singled before Schwarber connected for his fourth home run of the year. Harper followed that with a home run of his own into the bullpen. That was it for the Phillies' offense, but thankfully Walker calmed down and other than a shaky inning from Brad Keller, the bullpen did its job. Jhoan Duran recorded his fifth save of the season.
