1970 was to be Ellsworth's penultimate season in the Majors, splitting time between the Indians and Brewers. In 43 games that season, all but one in relief, he had a 3-3 record and a 3.79 ERA.
If/when the Phillies pick up a player from another team this season, you should make a "variation" that has the hat logo clumsily airbrushed out, as with Dick Ellsworth.
ReplyDeleteJust don't follow the lead of the 1966 Ellsworth card.
ReplyDeleteI really like the smudge variation idea, and I guess I could also use a photo that's 3 or 4 years old. I believe that's the top of a Cubs logo peaking up at the bottom and Ellsworth had last pitched with the Cubs in 1966.
ReplyDeleteAnd yikes on the 1966 Ellsworth card . . . I won't be using that concept!
