2014 Topps Gypsy Queen Mini Black #147 A.J. Burnett

Phillies 3, Nationals 1
Game 141 - Saturday Afternoon, September 6th in Washington
Record - 66-75, 5th Place, 13 1/2 games behind the Nationals

One Sentence Summary:  A.J. Burnett held back the Nationals, as the Phillies won the second game of the series, 3-1.

What It Means:  For the first time since July 11th, the Phillies are less than 10 games under .500.  They need to go 15-6 the rest of the way to finish at .500 and 16-5 to finish with a winning record.  They are 12-5 in their last 17 games, and they've won nine of their last 12 games.

What Happened:  Burnett allowed a run on six hits in his seven innings of work.  Ken Giles and Jonathan Papelbon shut the door in the eighth and ninth innings to give the Phils the win.

Ryan Howard knocked in a pair with a single in the third and Domonic Brown added a solo home run (his 9th) in the sixth.  Ben Revere went 0 for 4 to lower his average to .314, dropping him a point behind Josh Harrison in the N.L. batting race.

Featured Card:  I'm officially out of Burnett Phillies cards* in my collection, so here's his Gypsy Queen Mini card featuring him with his previous team, the Pirates.  This is the parallel black version, numbered to 199.  I didn't buy much Gypsy Queen this year, but I was lucky enough to pull this Burnett card from one of the few packs I bought.

*I just ordered Burnett's relic card from the Donruss Series 2 set, but even this card is clearly a Pirates card pretending to be a Phillies card.
