2004 Topps Chrome #181 Jason Michaels

Astros 5, Phillies 2
Game 145 - Tuesday Night, September 13th in Houston

One Sentence Summary:  For the second night in a row, a former Phillie pitcher dominated his former team, as J.A. Happ and the Astros defeated the Phillies, 5-2.

What It Means:  Just a little bump in the road.  The Phils are 94-51.

What Went Wrong:  Happ (6-15) pitched six innings, allowing just one run on four hits.  Cole Hamels struggled early, but seemed to be sailing along until the fourth when the Astros scored four times.  Hamels' poor outing, lackluster play in the field (including a crucial fielding error by Ryan Howard) and a sluggish offense all contributed to the loss.

Hunter Pence (his 20th) and Carlos Ruiz (his 6th) provided the only offense with solo home runs.

Featured Card:  Former Phillie Jason Michaels left the game early after bending his hand back on a catch he made in the second.  Unfortunately, Michaels ended up breaking a bone in his hand and he'll miss the rest of the season.  If he had used the glove he's pictured with here, perhaps this injury could have been avoided.
