Game 109 - 2021 Stadium Club #219 J.T. Realmuto

Phillies 7
, Nationals 6
Game 109 - Thursday Afternoon, August 5th in Washington
Record - 56-53, 2nd Place, 1/2 game behind the Mets

One Sentence Summary:  Continued clutch hitting from Bryce Harper, J.T. Realmuto and Rhys Hoskins led to this 7-6 victory and brought the Phillies to within a half game of the first place Mets.

What It Means:  It's old news now, but this was a huge four-game sweep and the Phillies would start the weekend series against the Mets with some serious momentum on their side.

What Happened:  Aaron Nola battled through five innings, allowing five runs and departing the game with the Nationals holding a 5-2 lead.  The Phillies offense battled back though with a run in the seventh and four big runs in the top of the ninth.  Odubel Herrera doubled to lead off the inning and Ronald Torreyes reached on an error.  With two outs and the Phillies trailing, 5-3, Realmuto doubled to score Herrera and Torreyes and tie the game.  Harper was intentionally walked to get to Hoskins and Hoskins promptly delivered another double to give the Phillies a 7-5 lead.  Archie Bradley then barely held on in the bottom of the ninth to deliver the sweep.

Featured Card:  Per this Scott Lauber Tweet, the trio of Harper, Realmuto and Hoskins went 24 for 52 (.462) with 10 doubles and four home runs over the prior five games.  Realmuto gets the card here for his clutch game-tying double.
