Game 6 - 2020 Topps Heritage #53 Aaron Nola

Yankees 3Phillies 1 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)
Game 6 - Wednesday Night, August 5th in Philadelphia
Record - 2-4, 4th Place, 3 games behind the Marlins

One Sentence Summary:  Aaron Nola matched his career high with 12 strikeouts, but a lack of offense and Tommy Hunter led to a 3-1 loss to the Yankees.

What It Means:  It's still early right?  A tenth of the way through this season, the equivalent of 16 games during a regular season, the batting averages for some of the starters is concerning - Roman Quinn .182, Rhys Hoskins .158, Bryce Harper .222, Jean Segura .182, Andrew McCutchen .056 and Scott Kingery .100.

What Happened:  Nola turned in an ace-like performance, with his only blemish being a second inning home run allowed to Luke Voit.  He allowed three hits and one run, with manager Joe Girardi lifting him after six innings and 88 pitches.  Hunter entered in the seventh with the score tied and didn't retire a batter.  After four sharp hits and a hit batter, it was 3-1 Yankees and Hunter was sitting on the bench, stunned.

The Phillies scored their lone run in the second when Andrew Knapp singled Neil Walker home.

Featured Card:  Assuming he makes 9 more starts this season, here's hoping Nola actually gets some run support and then some decent relief pitching to lock down at least a handful of wins for him.
