Game 4 - 2019 Topps Heritage #125 Maikel Franco

Phillies 8, Nationals 2
Game 4 - Tuesday Night, April 2nd in Washington
Record - 4-0, 1st place, 1/2 game ahead of the Mets

One Sentence Summary:  Bryce Harper paced the Phillies offense in his return to Washington in this 8-2 win over the Nationals.

What It Means:  At some point over the next 13 years, I imagine I'll reach the point where the thought of having Harper on the Phillies stops making me giddy.  But I'm not there yet.  Harper was loudly booed by the Nationals fans, striking out in his first two plate appearances against Max Scherzer.  But then he doubled in the 5th, had an RBI single in the 6th and hit a mammoth 458-foot home run off Jeremy Hellickson in the 8th.  He capped his big night with an epic bat flip that made Odubel Herrera blush.  This team is fun to watch and Harper is right in the middle of all of it.

What Happened:  Zach Eflin went toe to toe with Scherzer for five innings, allowing 3 hits and striking out 9.  Harper and Jean Segura both had 3 RBI nights and Herrera added 3 hits of his own.

Featured Card:  He's been called baseball's best eight hole hitter, and Maikel Franco's 2 for 2 night raised his season average to .545.  It was Franco's 2nd inning home run that got the Phillies on the board first and until Harper's shot in the 8th, he alone held the team lead in home runs with 3.  Franco is still the improbable team RBI leader with 8.
