Game 145 - 2018 Topps Archives #56 Aaron Nola

Nationals 5, Phillies 1
Game 145 - Wednesday Night, September 12th in Philadelphia
Record - 74-71, 2nd place, 7 1/2 games behind the Braves

One Sentence Summary:  Aaron Nola allowed a pair of home runs in his five-inning outing and Stephen Strasburg struck out 9 Phillies in this 5-1 loss.

What It Means:  Driving home from baseball practice on Wednesday night, Doug didn't even want to listen to the game.  "It's too frustrating," he said.  Doug is 11, and unfortunately this is the first of many times during his life that the Phillies will just be "too frustrating."

This was most likely Bryce Harper's last game at Citizens Bank Park as a member of the Nationals.

What Happened:  J.P. Crawford received a rare start at shortstop and he enjoyed a 3 for 4 night with a solo home run (3) in the 5th inning.

Featured Card:  Aaron Nola recorded his 200th strikeout in this game, becoming the first Phillies pitcher to reach that mark in a season since Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels did it in 2013.
