What It Means: The loss dropped the Phillies into sole possession of last place in the division. The paid attendance of 17,109 was also a season low.
What Happened: The slumping Maikel Franco, Michael Saunders and Cameron Rupp were all given the night off. The offense went 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position. Aaron Altherr had a pair of hits and Andrew Knapp (2) hit a solo home run in the ninth off Chad Qualls. Zach Eflin allowed all eight runs in his six innings of work.
Featured Card: The 2017 Phillies aren't giving me much to write about, so here's a look back at this day in Phillies history. On May 23, 1991, Tommy Greene no-hit the Expos in Montreal. Phungo ran a few posts last year showing three of the baseball cards to commemorate this event, and in my recent checklisting activities I came across a fourth card shown here. This card was released with the Medford Phillies Update set available for sale at Veterans Stadium late in the 1991 season.

Transaction: The Phillies placed Daniel Nava on the ten-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain and Adam Morgan was once again recalled from the IronPigs.
