Phillies 7, Orioles 5
Spring Training Game 5 - Tuesday Afternoon, February 28th in Clearwater
Record - 3-2
One Sentence Summary: The Phillies produced four home runs, including a bomb off the Tiki Bar roof in left field from Tommy Joseph, in their 7-5 win over the Orioles.
What It Means: I really hope there are games during the regular season in which the Phillies hit four home runs . . . and win.
What Happened: Joseph (1), Scott Kingery (1), Brock Stassi (2) and Aaron Altherr (1) all homered. Kingery enjoyed a three-hit day and made a nice play in the field at second base. Clay Buchholz pitched two scoreless innings in his spring debut.
Featured Card: Kingery, a second round draft pick from 2015, is likely to be an early cut this spring but he's been impressive so far. His first mainstream cards appeared in the 2015 Bowman Draft set, and he also had a card in last year's Topps Heritage Minor League set.
Camp Head Count: 62
Is that Mike Kingery's son?
ReplyDeleteMy parents were at this game, which I find hilarious. Travel all the way to Florida, go to a Phillies game, and still see a Buchholz start.
ReplyDeleteRob - Baseball Reference and the Phillies Media Guide don't mention any relationship to Mike Kingery.
ReplyDeleteS36 - Very funny! I think that would be like me going to a Sox game and having Kyle Kendrick starting.
