One Sentence Summary:  Odubel Herrera paced the offense with a three-hit night as the Phils hung on to beat the White Sox, 7-6.

What It Means:  Herrera had been in a prolonged slump, so it's nice to see him get hot for the final weeks of the season.  I attribute his three hits in this game to my son yelling at him in the dugout before the game, getting Herrera's attention, flashing the bull horns at him and having Herrera return to bull horns right back.

What Happened:  Herrera hit a two-run home run (15) in the first inning and added an RBI single in the fifth.  Roman Quinn and Tommy Joseph also had a pair of hits with Quinn knocking in a pair of runs.  Michael Mariot recorded his first career save after Jeanmar Gomez allowed three runs in the ninth and had to be removed.

Featured Cards/Field Report:  Doug and I attended this game together, with Doug immediately heading down to the Phillies dugout 90 minutes before first pitch to claim his spot for autograph seeking.  His patience paid off as several players and a few coaches came over to him to sign his cards.  Jared Eickhoff was a repeat signer for Doug, and Freddy Galvis was a pleasant surprise as he signed right before the start of the National Anthem.  Coaches Mickey Morandini and Dusty Wathan also signed with Wathan adding his autograph to the Phillies team card from the 2016 Topps set. Spending the most time signing was probably Darin Ruf, who was very gracious with his time.
