Sweeney and Richy Added to Stable of Phillies Prospects

Make no mistake about it, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the concept of Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley turning a double play again . . . in Dodgers uniforms.  I'm having a tough time with the whole "letting go" aspect of the Rollins, Cole Hamels and Utley trades but it does seem as if the Phillies farm system is now restocked and thriving.  Only time will tell if any of these players pan out.

Here's a look at the baseball cards available for the newest Phillies, and a recap of the players added and subtracted (so far) this season.

New Phillies
Darnell Sweeney (OF-INF - AAA) - Sweeney was drafted by the Dodgers in the 13th round of the 2012 amateur players draft.  He appears in recent Dodgers minor league team sets and it appears as if his only mainstream baseball cards to date can be found throughout unlicensed 2014 Leaf products.  As soon as there's a good picture of Sweeney in his new Phillies uniform, he'll receive a virtual Chachi card.

John Richy (RHP - High A) - Richy was drafted by the Dodgers in the 3rd round of last year's draft and he'll most likely report to the Clearwater Threshers for the remainder of the 2015 season.  Richy has readily available baseball cards in both the 2014 Bowman Draft set and the unlicensed 2014 Elite Extra Edition set.  Of importance to The Phillies Room, Richy apparently sports a handlebar mustache.

Departed During Season

• Grady Sizemore (6/1/15) - Released and signed with the Tampa Bay Rays organization on 6/15/15.
• Phillippe Aumont (6/24/15) - Designated for assignment and elected free agency.  Signed with the Toronto Blue Jays organization on 7/24/15.
• Jonathan Papelbon (7/28/15) - Traded with cash considerations to the Washington Nationals for Nick Pivetta.
• Cole Hamels and Jake Diekman (7/31/15) - Traded with cash considerations to the Texas Rangers for Matt Harrison, Nick Williams, Jorge Alfaro, Jake Thompson, Jerad Eickhoff and Alec Asher.
• Ben Revere (7/31/15) - Traded to the Toronto Blue Jays for Jimmy Cordero and Alberto Tirado.
• Chase Utley (8/19/15) - Traded with cash considerations to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Darnell Sweeney and John Richy.

Arrived During Season

• Kevin Correia (6/8/15) - Signed as a free agent formerly with the San Francisco Giants organization.
• Dalier Hinojosa (7/15/15) - Selected off waivers from the Boston Red Sox.
• Jerad Eickhoff (7/31/15) - Acquired with Matt Harrison, Nick Williams, Jorge Alfaro, Jake Thompson and Alec Asher from the Texas Rangers for Cole Hamels, Jake Diekman and cash considerations.
• Darnell Sweeney (8/19/15) - Acquired with John Richy from the Los Angeles Dodgers for Chase Utley and cash considerations.
