One Sentence Summary:  David Buchanan imploded in historically devastating fashion as the Diamondbacks pummeled the Phillies and won easily, 13-1.

What It Means:  The Phillies once again have the worst record in baseball.  Also, Maikel Franco was drilled in the wrist with a Jeremy Hellickson fastball and had to leave the game in the first inning.  X-rays on the wrist were negative, but Franco will miss at least a few games.

What Happened:  Buchanan allowed 11 runs in a painfully awful second inning on 11 hits and two walks.  The damage included a grand slam from David Peralta, a two-run home run from Aaron Hill, and two singles and three RBIs from opposing pitcher Hellickson.  To put this performance into perspective:

• No Phillies starting pitcher had allowed 11 runs in an outing since Al Jurisch did it in 1947.
• No Phillies pitcher had allowed 11 runs in an inning since Hal Kelleher did it in 1938.
• Buchanan is the first Phillies starting pitcher ever to allow 11 earned runs in two inning or less since 1912, when earned runs were first tracked in the National League.
