1973 Topps Flashback: As the season winds down, I need to squeeze in a few 1973 Topps Phillies cards that haven't been featured yet. Such is the case with this League Leader card featuring Steve Carlton, Gaylord Perry and Wilbur Wood. Carlton's amazing 27 wins led the National League in 1972, while Perry and Wood turned in an impressive 24 wins to lead the Junior Circuit.
I've started working on the 2013 Chachi Team Leader cards, and I already know the Victory Leader card is going to be a little depressing. It will feature Lee and Kyle Kendrick with their team-leading 11 or so wins. Just wait until next year.

If it helps, the top three for the Sox last year had 11-11-9 wins.
ReplyDeleteJust wait 'til next year!
ReplyDeleteLooking for big things from Hamels-Lee-Gonzalez at the top of the rotation.
