I learned on Monday night that long-time Phillies announcer Andy Musser passed away
over the weekend at the age of 74. Along with every other baseball fan in the Delaware Valley, I spent countless hours listening to Musser, Harry and Whitey call the games for the better part of two decades. I very rarely feature cards on this blog that I've
previously posted, but I'm willing to make an exception today.
I can only imagine the conversations those three fine gentlemen are having now. Rest in peace, Andy.
nice find for today - pretty sure there are no Musser cards in the Phungo colleciotn.
ReplyDeleteIn 1967, Musser was doing a call-in sports talk show on WCAU 1210. One night I called him (my first call to a radio show, and the only one for more than 30 years).
ReplyDeleteI think I asked him something dumb like "How many home runs do you think Richie Allen will hit this year?"
It was a pleasure to listen to him along with Harry and Richie all those years.
