2011 Topps Lineage Mini #121 Roy Halladay

Phillies 5, Brewers 3
Game 141 - Friday Night, September 9th in Milwaukee

One Sentence Summary:  Ryan Howard's first inning home run provided all the support Roy Halladay needed as the Phillies defeated the Brewers, 5-3.

What It Means:  The Phillies continued their winning ways, and they've now won five in a row against two of the best teams in the National League.  Their record is 93-48 and the magic number to clinch the division is down to 9.

What Went Right:  Halladay (17-5) pitched eight strong innings, exiting after his 120th pitch.  He struck out nine and allowed just one run on four hits.  Ryan Madson recorded his 29th save after a shaky outing from Antonio Bastardo allowed two ninth-inning Brewers runs.

Howard's first inning blast was his 32nd of the season.  Pete Orr enjoyed a three-hit night, and he also managed to disrupt the nightly sausage race at Miller Park.

Featured Card:  I've added some cool new stuff to my collection recently with the addition of Phillies team sets from both the Topps Stickers and Topps Lineage Mini sets.  Here's Halladay's mini card from the Lineage set.  As Night Owl pointed out in a recent post, the color combination in use here - yellow-orange - didn't exist in the original 1975 Topps set.
