2010 Chachi #33 Brad Lidge

Tales from the draft folder . . . I've had the remaining 2010 Chachi cards sitting in my draft folder for a few months now. While I'm vacationing, I thought it would be a good opportunity to post a few more cards from this year's set.

Brad Lidge enjoyed the Perfect Season in 2008, saving all 41 of his regular season save opportunities and going a perfect 7 for 7 in the Postseason. To say he has struggled mightily ever since would be a huge understatement. He's been slowed by knee and elbow injuries missing time in both 2009 and 2010 with stints on the disabled list. His combined 2009 and 2010 totals (through Saturday) are not pretty: 1-9 in 91 games with a 6.78 ERA. During that span, he's blown 15 out of 56 save opportunities, and yet he's still manager Charlie Manuel's "guy." He's also card #33 in this year's Chachi set.

Phillies debut: April 6, 2008
Major League debut: April 26, 2002
How acquired: Acquired from the Houston Astros with Eric Bruntlett for Michael Bourn, Geoff Geary and Mike Costanzo, November 7, 2007
Others wearing #54 in the 2000s: Randy Wolf 2000, Eddie Oropesa 2001, Hector Mercado 2002-2003, Francisco Rosario 2007, Brad Lidge 2008-2009
2009 Postseason: Lidge recorded 3 saves in the NLDS and NLCS, but he was clobbered by the Yankees in Game 4 of the World Series. He entered the top of the 9th of that game with the score tied 4-4, but he allowed 3 Yankees runs, resulting in a crucial loss for the Phils.
Pictured: October 21, 2009 - Lidge closed out the clinching Game 5 of the NLCS for the Phils against the Dodgers.
