2009 O-Pee-Chee #341 Greg Dobbs

The Phillies, who had a 10-run lead after the 1st inning, won tonight against the Reds by a final tally of 22-1. It was the fourth 10-run 1st inning in the franchise's history and it was the team's largest margin of victory since 1894. That's right - 1894. Here's a summary of the damage by the Phillies starting line-up:

Jimmy Rollins - 3 for 4, 4 runs scored, double
Shane Victorino - 4 for 5, 2 doubles, 5 runs scored, 4 RBI including a 2-run home run in the 1st
Chase Utley - 2 for 3, 4 RBI including a 3-run home run in the 1st
Jayson Werth - 2 for 5 with 5 RBI including an 8th inning grand slam
Greg Dobbs - 4 for 6 (raising his average to .271) with a 2-run home run in the 1st
Cole Hamels - 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI

Cole also pitched 7 innings, allowing only 1 run on 3 hits for his fifth victory of the year. The Reds were forced to use shortstop Paul Janish to pitch the bottom of the 8th due a completely depleted bullpen. Janish surrendered 6 runs, including Werth's grand slam.
